Greenbrook TMS Neurohealth Centers provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, an FDA-cleared, non-invasive therapy for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder and other mental health disorders in the United States. TMS therapy provides local electromagnetic stimulation to specific brain regions known to be directly associated with mood regulation. Greenbrook has provided more than 420,000 TMS treatments to over 11,000 patients struggling with depression. Attendees will learn 1) What is TMS Therapy, 2) How does TMS Therapy work and 3) Best candidates to refer for TMS Therapy.
Dr. Misty Borst, MD joined Greenbrook TMS in November 2016 as Medical Director at our Columbia Center. Originallyfrom South Carolina, Dr. Misty Borst obtained her Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Soon thereafter, she relocated to Baltimore to complete her Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program. Since residency, she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has been treating patients with TMS since 2016. Dr. Borst is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association as well as the Maryland Psychiatric Society. She focuses on treating depression and anxiety disorders and believes healthy individuals make healthier and happier families and communities. Dr. Borst recognizes the importance of an individual’s specific story and appreciates the nuance involved in psychiatric treatment.
